Albay: Land of the World's most Perfect Cone

    The Iconic image of Albay is the towering, nearly-perfect cone of Mayon Volcano. Just the view of it is worth the drive. You can go anywhere in Albay and have Mayon volcano in the background of your photos. The braver can go closer and climb up all the way to the volcano's crater. Mayon Volcano located in the north of Legaspi is one of the natural tourist attractions of Albay. It is reputed to be the most perfect cone of any volcano.
       No volcano in the world has a cone as perfectly shaped as Mayon. Towering at almost 8000 feet above sea level, it lies at the center of three cities and 15 municipalities of Albay. Mayon's name was derived from the local word "Magayon," which means beautiful
